on books and things

I read a lot.  Some of the books are so amazing that I feel the need to share their brilliance with others.  Some are not.

I started this blog to write about books I’ve read, and I may also write about other things.  We’ll see what it becomes.

I am using a star rating system, that is a bit different from ones I see on other sites.  I don’t give stars to books I don’t like.  Its a silly practice.   If I give it a star, I liked it enough to recommend it.

****	brilliant	This means I think the book is brilliant and it’s crazy not to give it a shot
***	very good	I highly reccomend this book.
**	good	I think this book is good, and would read it again.
*	entertaining	I enjoyed reading this book once, but it doesn’t warrant a second read.
no star	mediocre	I think mediocre is self explanatory. I don’t recommend this book
UGH!	terrible	It is rare that I read a book this bad, but I have occassionally wondered how a book ever made it to publication.
????	Question marks mean I’m just not sure. The book has something good about it, but as a whole, is not very good. So it gets a ?.

I mention re-reading books a few times in my rating system. I am one of those people that frequently reads a book again, and sometimes again. If you are not someone who does this, ignore that part, it means nothing to you.
