beach: shells and cheap thrills

I just got back from the beach, which was fabulously sandy.  I already miss the sound of the tides and the salty breeze as I read numerous books and did little else.  My crafty plans faded as I dozed in the sun and jumped waves in warm water.   I did find some great shells with holes in them that I plan to use in crocheted jewelry.

I also found this great lytho print for 50 cents at a local thrift store.   And a vintage children’s copy of the Swiss Family Robinson, one of my favorite books.  I love the house descriptions and that they have multiple residences that they build from scratch.  Talk about DIY!
Total for lytho and book was $1.09 with tax.  Best beach buys ever!
